Formless, Shapeless
Lewis here. I wrote and recorded this EP in the many COVID lockdowns that took place between 2020 and 2021; before I’d ever met Dan, Zach, or Cal. In fact, the majority of the tracks were finished before I even thought up the name ‘Cinder’. In a lot of ways it defined the sound of the band. It’s a bit less delicate than VTB or other stuff we have in the works, but the groundwork is all still there.

The name of the EP was inspired by the final track on Nirvana’s ‘Endless, Nameless’. At the time I thought it was because the name sounded cool, but maybe there’s another connection in there as well; the desperate thrashing of it all...

Despite being the final track on the EP, Hum was the first track I wrote. The first Cinder song, I suppose. We’ve been playing it live for 2 and a half years now, and I still look forward to it every fucking time. I hope you enjoy it, and the other songs, as much as I do.

Anyway, new music is nearing. We may be formless, but we shan’t be shapeless for much longer.
